Sorry that we haven't updated much, it seems like the hospital network is blocking us from updating our blog. Lizzie has been asleep pretty much all day, with some movement and stirring as they've been reducing the medicines she's on so that they can wean her off the respirator. Although she is still hooked up to the respirator, they say her lungs are now doing the work of breathing, which is very good. Her blood gases look great, so they might be extubating her (removing the breathing tube) in the middle of the night. If you could pray a specific request, pray that, Lord willing, she won't need a permanent pacemaker. Right now she is on a temporary one, which is not unusual after surgery, and she may need it for a week or so, but our prayer is that her heart's rhythm will get back to normal and prevent the need for a permanent pacemaker. Thank you so much. Love to all. We are doing well.

Thursday night

ReplyDeleteOh..good to hear the update again, we'll pray about the pacemaker too...I get teary seeing her with all the machines - but am so thankful for them!
ReplyDeleteThis picture is so amazing...a little scary but also a miracle that all this medical expertise is available to her. We've been folowing the progress and praying for a good outcome...looks like "so far, so good". So glad there is another picture after this of her in Kristen's lap!
